Bournemouth property is still among the best to rent in the UK. According to the most recent figures from property site Zoopla, there has been a significant rise in the number of towns considered better to buy than rent, having increased from 40 towns in 2010 to the 2011 figure of 47. The rents and asking prices were analysed across 78,000 two-bedroom flats in the UK and the rental cost compared to the owning cost based on a 5% per annum interest only mortgage. In all the 50 towns, Bournemouth is among the only three towns where renting remains cheaper than buying, a factor that makes Bournemouth property still best to rent in the UK. The other towns are Plymouth and Swansea. Milton Keynes is top among the towns where buying is better than renting which was placed at about 36% more expensive compared to owning, followed by Warrington at 33% and Walsall at 32%. Buying is also popular in London where 2-bedroom flats are currently attracting £442,036 in asking price while the monthly rent is averaging at £2,416 which is equivalent to 31% more expensive when compared to owning. Property experts have observed that although buying is relatively cheaper, many would be buyers are not able to benefit from the situation due to inability to access mortgaging. This is a key factor that has driven up demand for renting and made Bournemouth property still amongst the best to rent in the UK. |
